Halloween and Día de los Muertos happen around th

Halloween and Día de los Muertos happen around the same time but are completely different. While Halloween is known for costumes, candy, and spooky fun, Día de los Muertos is a beautiful, multi-day celebration of life and remembrance, mainly celebrated in Mexico and by Mexican communities worldwide.

During this time families create ofrendas, altars to honor loved ones who have passed away. Ofrendas are filled with photos, marigolds, candles, favorite foods, and cherished items of those being remembered. The offerings are believed to encourage visits of departed souls from the land of the dead. This holiday is all about celebration.

Embracing diverse traditions is a way to honor cultures and keep these rich stories alive. Share your tradition with TUS and tag us!
